What is proofreading?
Proofreading is the final pass before content is released to the public. Its purpose is to ensure that your work is ready to be published. I check:
-
The grammar, spelling, word use, and punctuation.
-
That the style and formatting is consistent.
-
That the structure is logical and complete.
-
That the meaning is clear.
For more information, the Chartered Institute of Editing and Proofreading (CIEP) has a useful FAQs page here.
